The Scaramouche
Scaramouche are five locals who have come together to bring music, mischief and magic from deserted places and candlelit clown cars. Fronted by the blunt force that is Jacqui Holmes and backed by rabble rousers, rapscallions and some dude with barnacles. It's about to get loud.
4:00pm - 4:30 pm
Algal Scum
It's often said, "there must be something in the water of Candelo". For a small village on the far south coast of NSW the Candelo Music scene carries a huge reputation as the home of many highly regarded musicians and songwriters. In 2020 on the fringes of these waters, Algal Scum bloomed. Lapping up the lyrics of their fellow Candelonian songsmiths, Algal Scum regurgitates them with a pinch of punk, A dollop of dork, and a whole lot of attitude. If ya don't stir the pot, the scum rises to the top!
4:45pm - 5:15pm
David Ross Macdonald
David Ross Macdonald may have his name featured in a Pete Wild song regarding a caravan borrowed from Sam Martin on a block of land next to Melanie Horsenell but his attention seeking behaviour does extend beyond local fame-by-association exploits and cunning name placements in excellent songs. To prove it, the festival is giving him 30 minutes to reveal what this tunesmith and multi-instrumentalist has got humming beneath the hood and who knows who he might be calling upon to join him on stage to make it all a going concern. “It might get awkward and a little weird but there could be a downside to my show as well, best you come prepared” Dave suggests, to himself, while writing this bio.

And so it all began. Menager’s lyrics cut along a philosophical edge, his style cuts across the musical spectrum from blues and swing to country and early rock’n’roll, and his stories cut through the inner landscape of a poet and traveler –all framed and embellished by Martin’s jazz-influenced guitar and Efraemson’s hauntingly lyrical violin.
